Who qualifies to use VITA Lowcountry virtual and remote online services?

Are you a resident of SC Lowcountry?

You should be a South Carolina resident living in any of the following counties: Beaufort, Jasper, Colleton or Bamberg.

Is your adjusted gross income level within certain limits?

Your adjusted gross income should be less than $56,000 single or $112,000 married filing joint.  If you aren’t sure, sign up for a Pre-Screening call and we will help estimate your adjusted gross income.

Under the Volunteer Protection Act, Certified IRS volunteers must stay in the scope of the program and do those returns for which we have received training.  Here is a summary of the types of individual income tax issues we are able to address and a list of items that are not within the scope of our training.  This is not a comprehensive list, but encompasses the more typical tax issues we see.

  • Unreimbursed moving expenses
